Initially assertive with concentrated aromas of blackberry, raisin, and dark cherry, things eventually diminish with nuances of vanilla and toasted oak from aging in French oak barrels emerging and providing balance. The palate is full of ripened dark and red fruit layered in between notes of baking spice, toasted oak, cigar box and vanilla, with the dark fruit acting firmly as an anchor throughout. A lengthy finish big on tannins and acidity pushes up a touch of minerality alongside the spice and oak lingering about on the palate.
A very fragrant malbec here with lots of crushed blueberries, stones, blue flowers and wild herbs. Lavender and violets. The medium-bodied palate has lots of juicy red and blue fruits. The tension and the chalky tannins are very noticeable on the palate. Really well-balanced. Fantastic value for the money.
