Kōpū Hawke’s Bay Syrah is a beautifully handcrafted wine with elegance, style and texture. Dark purple in colour, it shows sweet violet aromas on the nose and just a hint of spice. From Lake Road Wines comes this bright, pepper-dusted syrah sourced from vineyards around Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand’s syrahvana. Showing classic violet vavoom and an edge of iron filings, blackcurrant, blueberry and seasoned leather, it’s a style that requires a large, swirlable glass so that you can give it oxygen to help its aromas and flavours erupt. The tannins are softly grainy and have good chew and grip. A nice little syrah indeed.
Colour: Moderately dark ruby-red, slightly lighter on the rim.
