Redcurrant, plum and coal flavours combine with sweet spice, clove and bitumen. It’s succulent and lively from start to finish; the close is then blessed with a fine mesh of tannin. Mouthfeel and flavour are on song here. This does command respect thanks to the fruit coming off 123yo vines and the care with it from that moment right through to the winemaking. It is powerful and divine. Lush with the dark fruit coated with chocolate, pepper and coffee. The palate feels all velvety with the tannins neatly placed, the oak integrated and with a glass in hand, a sense that all's well with the world.
Colour: Dense inky black heart with a bright dark red black tinged hue.
Aroma: Potent scents of ripe blackberry, liquorice and dark plum engulf the senses followed by vanillin oak, mocha, light earth and spice.
Palate: Decadently rich and voluptuously textured the palate is drenched in lavish blackberry, liquorice and dark plum fruits which overlay a back drop of medium toasted vanillin oak, earthy mocha and spice nuances. Satin smooth with magnificent power and intensity, velvety tannins lead into an exceptionally long and highly seductive aftertaste.
Food Pairing: Grilled or roasted lamb chops, ribeye steak, and venison burgers are all great options.
